If your ever down south near Corpus I could take you out. I prefer artificials but if you want to fill your cooler, chunking cut or live mullet in the pot holes is a sure thing.

Now for bait, I'm a big fan of live shrimp, and believe right now until mid June you should be able to fill your freezer. Also, if you can catch a live blue crab and crack it into quarters for bait, you'll get a red to swim a mile to you.
First dedicate a day just to find some inshore spots you can get to. Here is a link to where you can get public beach access:

You may also want to study the moon phase as it relates to redfish, and incorporate that when you go.
Check list:
1. Find spots.
2. Fish a falling or rising tide
3. Look at the moon phase
4. Check the wind and barometric pressure
5. Buy live bait (shrimp or crockers)
6. Go to spot
7. Catch fish.
Oh, for a good understanding of barometric pressure check out this post on another forum:

Call captain ross brunner, aka Brunner on Tbh. He will put you on the reds. Pretty much limits out every time he goes with good size reds. He even has a place to sleep down in port oconner. I've been with him.several times and was actually tired of catchin fish. Alot of the guys on here have gone with him and I know they will back up what I said. Can pm me for his info or can pm him. You wont be disappointed.
