Need help with a shallow well in Brazoria county

I'm wanting to add a water well with a hand pump on my property. I called my well guy and he said it would be $2,000 just to set up. I'm willing to pay, and or help with something you need help with. Thanks for any info

My neighbor just put one in on his own. I'll question him on how he did it. Him and his wife knocked it out in a weekend and I'm certain it didn't cost them $2k.

You can buy a wash down screen you put on your pipe run a water hose in the pipe and turn the pipe with pipe wrenches and it will slowly go down (if you have access to water already) First dig a post hole as deep as you can. You can also get a the kind you drive down.

The wash down screen has small holes in the tip to jet it down. I have done afew using both wash down and driving.
