Not sure if there is already a thread on this but Im looking to go help in West. I have Saturday and Sunday off and would like to donate manual labor. Do I just show up or is their someone I need to contact? Will they let random volunteers just show up? Any info would be appreciated.

West is my hometown. As far as I know they will need people to help at the rodeo grounds and any other areas. They appreciate any volunteers with this time of need. Check out the cityofwest.com for more information. -

I was in West yesterday. Took a truck/trailer load of supplies and some money we collected over there. They are still taking any type of items that you feel would help. Due to the overwelming response they have had with folks bringing in supplies, they are really asking more for financial donations more than anything (to help pay for construction supplies).
I imagine if you showed up at the fairgrounds over there and said you wanted to help, they could find plenty for you to do.Comment
