    Didn't expect to see this on the trail cam

    Man these animals are tough. Looks like someone gut shot this little buck and he managed to live. You can see in the pics that it was a through-and-through...still scratching my head on how he's still walking. I'm hoping he heals up enough to make it through the hot months. Do ya'll think he'll make it???

    I don't see anything oozing, so that's a good sign. Still, he looks pretty scrawny, and that can't be good especially as dry as it's been. I hope you can keep an eye on him and keep us updated on his status. Is there water nearby?

      If it's coming in one end an going out the other he may make it . But he doesn't look all that good.

          A few neighbors have retention ponds and I try to keep the troughs filled on the property but we don't have a continuous water source. I'll definitely post more pics if I see him again...

            It's the end of April, if that wound was going to claim him, it would have already.

            No sign of infection & he's eating, that's all good
