Wanted to share this, just to show the good of people in these trying times. My fire dept, Briaroaks FD in Johnson county, held our annual fish fry today. We had decided that all of our proceeds would be going to West FD. Well.. today was the biggest, busiest fish fry to date, and it's been going on for 25+ years! We had over 700 people come eat the best fish around, and raised over $11,000!!!! Plus donations of clothes, etc for familes. We know this will never replace what was takin from West FD and the other depts that suffered casualties in that tragic explosion, but hopefuly it will give them some what of a leg to stand on so they can continue to provide such an invaluable service to their community. We will deliver a check to West soon, after they are done with all the stuff going on there now. But it just goes to show that the good of people will always rise above. Brothers take care of brothers.
