Grain Bin - Where to Buy???

With corn and protein prices sky high, we are looking to purchase an overhead storage bin or grain bin. The 14 ton overhead bins are pricey....around $8600 new. The smaller galvanized bins with auger systems are typically much less and take up less room.

Does anyone know where to purchase a feed bin? Anyone willing to sell a used one? Anyone know where to find used bins?

    Thanks for your help.

check local farm auctions can find some from time to time at these. Once you have it set up with augers and concret and power the over head is the way to go. Try southwest fabricators out of hugo ok they seam to have better prices. I priced a 40 ton overhead set up and delivered 2 weeks ago a belive it was 7800.00

Thanks for the info DCR. I priced a new 14 ton with divider from Texas Wildlife Supply in Brady at $8600. Seems like your suggestion in Oklahoma is MUCH cheaper!!

Anyone know of any used hoppers within an hour or so of Brownwood? Moving a used one can get really expensive.

Thanks, Jason. I'll check that out next time I head to Brownwood.

Another idea would be to check some of the old dairies in the Stephenville area. Some of them might have some old grain silos they want to get rid of that are still in good shape. I know I hauled some off for scrap from the dairy outside rising star this past summer.

We have 2 large and 2 smaller. I will check with my brother-in-law to see if he wants to get rid of any of them. He sold out all livestock 2 year ago and is now letting the place grow up. He may make you a very good deal on them and anyone else if intrested. I will talk to him tonight.

We got a 12 ton with divider at Bode feed in Harper for around $6000 installed.

Not sure of the size, but west end of Fredericksburg on 290, just past the 87/290 Y, north side of the road is a galvanized bin on legs. No idea of price, condition from the road looks almost new.
