Wasn't today the anniversary of the fertilizer explosion in Texas City back in the 40's??

            Edit-- was yesterday anniversary.

"A giant explosion occurs during the loading of fertilizer onto the freighter Grandcamp at a pier in Texas City, Texas, on this day in 1947. Nearly 600 people lost their lives and thousands were injured when the ship was literally blown to bits."

Wife is asleep and I've been in and out I sleep.
                        We didn't hear a thing.
Got a text from my mom that woke me up to the news....
                        Sad day.
All hospital personnel are being called in to both hospitals. (My sis)
                        Prayers up!

Channel 8 just reported they are evacuating the whole town. Reporter stopped in traffic 7 miles north of town.

That blast threw the anchor 7-8 miles if I read right and the city left it where it landed. I could be wrong on the distance.
