how many of yall had kidney stones removed by.surgery whete they leave a stint in. is it alwayz unconfortable

no sympathy in this department !!!!!! a co-worker had a procedure done a couple of weeks ago where they did his with the ultrasound and broke up a few big stones into several little ones. he said there was really no discomfort compared to the alternativeOriginally posted by Smart View PostComment

Agreed... if they're big enough, you can't pass them yourself without physically dying... worst thing to ever go through. Wish it upon nobody. If they're just past the border line size of getting a procedure done, get the procedure. I chose to pass it on my own, and it took 3 1/2 weeks to pass... 3 1/2 weeks of off and on pain.Comment

I had surgery to have mine removed last year, but they did not use a stint.Comment

Had mine broken up three years ago. First try and nothing happend but I did get a stint for a week. That thing was worse than the stones. Second try with a more powerful ultrasound and I finally got rid of the pesky thing. Getting the stint out was the best day ever.Comment

I had one removed but there was no surgery. They went and got it. had the stint for about a week.Comment

Yes they are but totally worth it to get that unbearable pain out of you. I had the stint in for a little over a week and was getting ready to leave for the lease the next day and it was about to drive me insane not to mention you feel like your about to p-/:;s your britches all the the time. So the next morning while in the shower I took it out myself. Scary at first but once it started coming out there was nothing to it.Comment
