42 - Anyone go see it yet?

Me and my little brother are wanting to go see it this weekend. We're both pretty sure it's going to be amazing but wanted to hear if someone had seen yet.

I had a buddy that's a die hard baseball guy, walk out. Everyone's taste is different I suppose. It won't stop me from going to see it.

Actually two people I know have said the same thing.

It was a decent movie. Not one that will blow you away by any means. Was hoping for more "baseball" situations and how he set records and "on the field" action. Went to the drive in and watch Gi Joe afterwards and it was better IMO.

Not bashing on "Chuey" whatsoever, he just brings up a point that I have an opinion on. The fact that the "N" word was said alot in the movie is simply an accurate portrayal of the time in which the movie is supposed to take place. Same as Django Unchained. In that time, in our country, the word was said all the time. I can't stand how all of these hippie media liberals say that "Oh, the 'N' word was used way too much and it was degrading..." . . . if they didn't say it, and the purpose of the movie is to portray a story line based around that time in our country, the director would not be doing his job to the fullest. If people can't handle the so-called "N" word being said in a movie, then it's just sad because there's so many more worse things going on in our country right now... again, not bashing "Chuey."

Great Movie, IMO. We saw it Saturday with my boys that are die hard baseballers, now one wants to be 42 instead of 45 next year, lol.

I'm not sure why anyone would walk out though.

He thought it was Vanilla and the writing was horrible. I’ll make my own determination.

Only thing I've heard was that the script writers totally left out Jackie's reliance on the Lord and giving Him credit for his achievements.

I'll wait for Netflix....I get enough Jackie Robinson crammed down my throat during the MLB season to pay for some more..
