    Gibbons creek?

How's the fishing? I know it's only open on the weekends, how crowded does it get?

Any special rules I should know about? I saw somewhere that you have to get a permit...that still true?

Is it a bass only lake, or is there some substantial catfish too?

    Thanks fellas!

Well they have great bass fishing crappie fishing and gaint cats. How big you might ask well my dad caught the state record out of that lake some year back under one of the hot water discharges when it was cooler temps thats really the only time I have ever fished the lake. But I have seen several cats come out of those waters 50+#'s cuz my dad and uncle have caught them my dad also hold two of the big cats caught on rod and reel at that lake. The 92# which was state record for a while and then he broke his on lake record which was 75#. I have seen and heard of lunkers being caught too big bass. As far as the crowd goes I am not sure but there are plenty of fish in that lake. Oh yeah my dad has hooked a fish out there he couldnt reel in.

The problem with Gibbions is that it is now only open Friday-Sunday. Never been on a Saturday. Friday mornings are dead and it slowly gets busier as the day goes on (and people get off work).

It isn't too bad for crowds (compared to Somerville). The lake is divided for lake flees and ski doodles in the main part with the rest for fishing. There are lots of catfish in the lake. I caught a limit of channels and blues Friday in 3 FOW on CJ's punch bait. No biggies but still a bunch of fillets.
