Wow where are all the GS police? Seems like its the worst thing in the world for a boy to shoot a bird with his bb gun, kill a timber rattler. But is ok to kill cats. Hey people that's still against the law. You can't ride the fence or follow the laws that fit your outlook or your situation
A lot of double standards? And how would Yall feel is Yall told him to SSS and he got in trouble for it?
To the OP if animal control isn't doing their job call their boss then his boss keep going up the chain until they do their job. No since in putting yourself in a position to get in trouble.

My buddy and I would go to the city dump and arrow them around sunset. Like you said, you can't do that anymore. PETA would have us believe that my buddy and I would've ended up being serial killers, not an eye doc and a retired computer sales guy helping archers over the TP hump.

OP stated the stray/trespassing cat injured his cats. At that point it becomes legal to kill the cat. Google it for yourself or call your sheriff to verify.
If it is just trespassing with no danger to you or your animals, then you should trap it and turn it into animal control.

If its truly feral and attacking pets it's not illegal. Timber rattlers and song birds are never legal to kill.

Agreed, except it doesn't have to be feral. If it attacks, you can legally kill it on your property. Once it leaves your property, you have to leave it alone until it comes back.

Don't add to the problem, if you can't kill em, take em to a shelter. But releasing that many effective predators into the woods really screws up the numbers.
I live in Houston so letting them loose in the woods around here isn't really effecting any numbers.
Shooting them is not really an option in the city limits.

Pellet gun is nice and quiet. A wack across the head with a hammer will do the trick also. If you're in the city limits, call animal control to come pick up the strays that you caught for them.
There are lots of better options than turning them loose in a different area for someone else to deal with.

A neighbor is in hot water for putting tylenol in sardines.
Tylenol is highly toxic to cats. Pretty brutal.

I have this dream about one neighbor's cat that comes 'round occasionally. I hope they put in a pet door as then I'm gonna trap the cat, douse it thoroughly with skunk scent and let it go home!

What ever you do don't take the stray animals out in the country and let them loose, because you don't have the caones to kill it yourself or take it to the pound because you know it will die there. All this does is make it my problem to have to shoot said cat/dog after it attacks my animals or when I see it on my property starving to death. ****** me off to know end how many dogs we have to kill a year because some jackwagon dropped them off to "live a better life"
