    HCR timer issues

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting my HCR feeder up and running?
I replaced the AA batteries in the timer, made sure I had a good charged 12v battery.
The clock runs fine, the feeder will thow when I hold the "test" but it will not throw via the timer.
    And suggestions?

Remove batteries for 20 minutes! Then it resets!

Shiner is correct, have to keep the batteries out of it to reset. That used to drive me crazy!

            I'll try that.
It says on the timer to take the batteries out for 5 mins.
Tried that, I'll take them out overnight and try that.

If overnight without batteries does not fix the issue, send it back to HCR and they will take care of it for you and replace if warranted.

Your test run time can be set to throw at a certain amount of seconds and your feed times can be set different. Make sure your feed times run time is not set to 0 seconds. When you look at your feed times, toggle backwards through them and your feed run time will show. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I pulled the batteries for a few hours, I'll put it back on the feeder and see how it works.

The timer I have only has up to four feed times with one set time for running.

Laugh if you will but I replaced my HCR timers with Remington Timers. Haven't had one go bad yet. I bet I went through a HCR every 3 years in my feeders...they would just quit working. nothing on the screen. I used to buy them at Dickinson feed store.

                      This^^^^^^^^

I send all of mine back when they quit no matter how old they are. Some are well over ten years. They never bat an eye.

I've had mine a few years and like how easy it is to set up and run and the reliability of it (until now).

I've had one go bad out of 10 in equal years. Stopped by their shop in Burnet on the way to the deer lease, and had a new one when I left. Great timers, and great customer service. Like other people mentioned, leaving the batteries out for an extended time will reset it.

I have getting away from HCR because of this same issue. I switched to the newer Cabelas/ Wildgame style (I think they like the above mentioned "Remington") They are simple to use and seem to be reiable. I have been let down by HCRs so many times, you spend so much time waiting for the right moment in the stand and when your fav spot has not been feeding all week,,,, well, it's frustrating. We have all been there.
