Scary moments in the field of the 'unatural' kind... let's hear them!

A few years back on a ranch I used to guide at in Texas we had a few hunters, including one couple, who were hog hunting. At the time our hunting was done strictly at night (especially during a 3/4 to full moon). On this particular night I dropped the husband and wife off at their stands (each to his/her own) as well as a few of the other hunters. At about 11:30PM the husband shot a pig and radioed in for assistance in tracking it. His friend came with me. I radioed back if he wanted me to pick up his wife, to which he responded with something short of a 'hell no'! His wife was a die hard hunter and wanted to stay out until 1AM. So off we go... We meet up and the 3 of us start tracking the hog. Hogs are tough critters and we tracked this hog a few miles into the deep brush when we ended up losing the trail (close to 2AM mind you). On this particular night there was NO wind and the moon was covered by heavy cloud cover- it was pitch black with only our petering-out flashlights leading the way! We started our 'trek' to return to the truck when it happened... the most beautiful sight I've ever seen. In the pitch black I saw a white 'figure' moving through the trees as if it was floating. It was soo bright! I almost had to pinch myself, yet the look on the faces of the other two were of supreme horror! They screeched like school girls and wanted to run back to the truck. I have to admit I too needed a change in drawers as it appeared that this thing started heading for us. Then just as quick, it disappeared! We were dumbfounded and shocked at what we just witnessed. None of us could come up with a 'rational' explanation. The light was too bright for a flashlight, not to mention it's shape (of a person), and there was no noise of footsteps or moving brush. We regathered our senses and quickly realized how 'late' we were in picking up his wife!

We finally made it to her blind around 3AM and she wasn't there. Her husband started to panick and we immediately started searching for her (thinking she tried tracking a hog on her own, which her husband kept saying she wouldn't do). We couldn't find her and decided to make a dash to the camphouse 'just in case'. I can't repeat the words out of her mouth when we arrived but I will say that her stand was over 4 miles from the camphouse and she was VERY sweaty!

To this day I cannot think of what it was that we saw other than it being a phenomenon. The image is burned in my head and I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw it! (witnesses)

Sooo... anyone else have some encounters of the unatural kind???

That is a very strange story, Roy. I'm not superstitious so I think that if you saw what you think you saw, it must have been a normal manifestation. Next time please get it on video and I'll try to be of more help.

Or, if I am hunting with you....feed me the mushrooms and return to the same spot.

An LDP would be better than video but make sure it's not someone's wife first.

I buy into the supernatural because God is supernatural. I don't buy into flying saucers, ghosts, bigfoot, or the tooth fairy, though. That's what I call superstition.

i'm gonna have to go against the grain here. you may have seen a ghost. i didn't use to believe in them, but have had some experiences i won't go into that changed my mind.
