Any mechanics on here? What's causing squeak?

This is on a 2007 Tundra. My wife took it to the dealership yesterday and they said they could not find a problem. It is driving me crazy. It will do it one day and not the next. Any ideas?

Forgot to add wheel bearing and brake pads were changed a week ago.

I had the same issue. Turned out to be the way my wife took off her seat belt!!!!! If you have it happed again, the belt is not retracted all the way. The buckle is squeeking on the seat and door post!!!

good video, I can hear your outer cv boot for sure. But thats not the squeaking noise your hearing. Its something dry that is rotating with the wheel, maybe they bent the backing plate when installing the brake pads ? Might squirt some wd in the inner shaft output and around the outer, could just be dirt build up.

watched it again, a dry needle bearing in that cv joint will make that noise. Might check that outer boot for tears around the rib where they rub while turning. (on top) water could have gained entry there. I had a chevy with ifs and boots were always a problem due to the lift kit.

Just like expressfish said, backing plate or something in with the brakes not installed right, maybe the center nut on the CV-joint at the hub left loose. Have the dealer recheck their work.

Did the noise start before or after the break/bearing job?

There's no backing plate. If it started after the work, then it's obvious someone didn't get things together right, or brand new parts are bad... it happens. If it was before, I'd look at that axle for dry bearings or something caught between the spindle and axle cup.

Pick a visual reference point on your CV shaft the sound is created with each revolution of the CV shaft.....needle bearing.....try performing your own maintenance and repairs it is not as difficult as you think and it will be done right the first time...

I see that now. It is still under warranty so I may just take this video to show them.

If you run it over to Bill McRae you can get it fixed! Just trade for a blue oval.

It started after. I took it back and that is when I was told there was nothing wrong.
