Wow....I would buy it back in a second (assuming it's reasonable) and keep it for as long as I could. Sounds like a great deal!

they are , but most companies are at a loss when it comes to rv claims.

They generally use an auto adjuster who may look at one or two trailer claims a month. Lots of rv claims are paid off of whatever the repair shop says it will take to fix it.

I used to have AAA on my old travel trailer and they missed a roof estimate by 150%. It was a pretty simple estimate, just roof material and labor. Both are readily available on the net or by calling any trailer repair shop or dealership.

On the other side, most total loss claims get way overpaid.

          Ok..... How it ended.

First though about my experience with progressive. They insure my boat and camper. 2 years ago a small 15 hp outboard kicker motor on my boat was stolen. Progressive had me a replacement check minus deductible in 2 days. On my camper the adjuster told me that he only took care of boats, RV's and mobile homes. He was very thorough on the inspection and knowledgable about RV's. the reason mine was totaled was repair hourly rates here were around $130 an hour compared to $90/hour elsewhere in the state. If the hourly rates around here were lower they would have repaired it.

With that being said, the offer to me to buy the trailer back was $7000. I told them that was way to high and they said they could get 50% value at wholesale easily and wouldn't come off that price. No negotiating. I was considering trying to sell it before all this happened and never would have made a profit like this. I'm running with the money. As for Progressive I can't complain at all.

            It is what it is....

They would have been lucky to get 7500 for that trailer undamaged with the market right now.....

            You did the right thing.
