Who do you buy power from and what rates are y'all paying for residential. Any good companies or ones to avoid?

depends on the coop's near you. Only a few places you can actually shop around for power...

Go to powertochose.org and enter your zip. It is different for every region of the state.

I've had Champion, Reliant, and TXU. I've never had a problem with any of them. Just be sure to change when your contract expires, because they all rip you off after the contract is up. They will not offer you as good a rated you can get somebody else if you're a current customer.

TXU will give you some better rates if you do a 1 or 2 year contract. We elected to stick with TXU because 2 friends had serious problems switching. Like no power for several days and everyone disclaiming responsibility.
