Informal Poll: Mechanically Inclined or Not?

      Yes.

My most ambitious project was swapping a Buick V6 into my 1980 Toyota. Still my lease truck to this day.

Somewhat. I used to be a lot more than I am now. Now I would rather pay someone else to deal with it.

Since I posted this thread five years ago I have become a master ASE mechanic. I've been hired by NASA, Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge, Etc to come up with viable solutions to their mechanical problems. I owe all this to TBH.

I am mechanically destructive. I can tear anything down. Reassembly, that's another story.

I was taught by my grandfather to wrench and weld. I can fix about anything, and build anything you can think of, but my woodworking projects are a different story. I am truly blessed for the knowledge I gained from that man.

That’s me without a doubt. Tear down is easy.

Mechanical. Although in more recent years I found myself passing the reigns to my son. He’s about to turn 21 and is probably already a better wrench than I ever was.

I'm doing pretty good to get the toothpaste out of the tube and on to the toothbrush.

I love making stuff in the shop or garage but it's usually under the watchful eye of someone who actually knows what they are doing.

I must be mechanical inclined. I keep fixing stuff I fixed before... Or just to cheap to buy something new.

Mechanically inclined. I grew up having to fix things. Dad couldn't afford to pay someone. Started helping on cars when I was around 10 years old. Learned to run a manual metal lathe when I was 12. As I got older, I just enjoyed fixing and making things. It's getting tougher with age, but I still enjoy it.
