The strangest thing.. Eye opener on Easter

Chris, Thomas, and I went down to Lake Whitney today to visit with family who were camping & to celebrate Easter.
On the way down there on FM 933 we drove past a church that had obviously caught fire recently and was taped off..
The whole roof was missing, all the windows busted out and appeared to be a total loss.
We talked about it with a few of our cousins, evidently there was a bad storm Friday night and it was struck by lightening and they said there was church service this morning & everyone just gathered on the front lawn under a canopy..
We didn't notice this until the ride back home..
The only thing left standing was the cross on top of the roof..
I had to stop & take pictures.. See for yourself..



Pretty crazy & definitely an eye opener, that he has risen.

No coincidence! We burned a 10 foot tree stump 2 years ago at easter and there was a definite, large cross shape hole that burned into it. Looked very cool backlit by the fire from one side

Our pastor shared a story the other day. Our church gives a family bibles to all guests. Recently, an HPD guy was at our church for a funeral and mentioned to the pastor that their bible from our church, was one of the only things unscathed in a house fire many years ago. The table that it sat on was in ashes. The guy's mom had given it back to our church as a special token. Our pastor led the guy into the hospitality room, where he greets all of the guests, and showed him the very same bible. The guy had not seen it since he was a boy just after the fire. Really neat stuff.
