Talk to your supervisor, give face to face verbal notice, then hand him your letter of resignation.

Also send copies of the letter to your department/division head and to HR.

I only quite a job once and that was to start my own business. I wrote a resignation letter to hand to my boss when I gave him the notice FTF. They asked me to stay on for 4 weeks and I did.

Once you give notice you can't collect work mans comp if you get hurt you are on your own.
I found this out the hard way several thousand dollars in med bills and off work for 6 mths couldn't collect a penny. Something to think about.

I'd wait until Aprilsecond. If you've been there 13 years they may think your pulling a joke since tomorrow is April fools day. Just a thought.

I have worked for a company four times. very small, as in total of 16 people. I gave the notice each time. twice they called me back[with more pay] twice I asked to come back[with more pay] it is the right thing to do. I look at it from the bosses point of view, and your coworkers that must take up the slack if nobody is in your place. how is he going to feel if you walk in and say K.M.A.? a burnt bridge cant be crossed.

Take your vacation, give 2 weeks notice when you get back

Whether they will pay or not i would ask for my vacation pay, you earned it even though you have not used it. Worst case they say no, best case you get 100%, likely you may have to meet somewhere in the middle

I highly dought that. As long as you are an employee and your company has coverage, you are covered. The workers comp insurance is there to protect the business from financial ruin in the case of a serious accident or death. Not all companies subscribe to the act though.

If your company had workers comp insurance and you were injured and got stuck with the medical bills you need to file a complaint with the state workers comp commission.

^^^^^ had to let someone go once in April 1, didn't even realize it until the guy I was letting go thought I was joking. Very awkward. 😳

That's not true (as stated) but your company may have fought the claim and had it denied.
