    Mounting transducer on trolling motor?

I know I have already asked this question but for some reason I cant find my post so I will ask it again. I bought a HB 571 for the front of my boat and I am going to mount the transducer on the trolling motor is there a bracket I need or do I have to buy a new transducer to mount?

I use two big hose clamps, there should be places to thread the hose clamp thru the transducer and just lock it down on the trolling motor.

The transducer that comes with it is an inhull or transom mount(XNT 9 DI T). You need a XTM 9 DI 25 T. Go to the humminbird website to see the difference.
Contact Humminbird direct and they should trade yours for the correct one I listed if yours is new.

      Later,
      Noel

No way to do that with that style of transducer. That was going to be my suggestion also at first.

Mine is new thanks for the help I am going to give them a call tomorrow. To make sure I understand to the fullest I dont need a new transducer just the mount? And do you mount it on the bottom of the motor on the side of the motor or on the shaft?

If it still comes with the Transom mount that has the slotted mounting holes, Put the X-ducer on the Transom mount, backwards. Then you and Zip Tie it to the trolling motor. Done it this way for years!

There is a bracket (around $17) that lets you mount the skimmer transducer on the TM. Cabelas, or any boat shop will have it. If u break the mounting ear later on you can buy the pod ducer and eliminate the bracket.

you mount it to the bottom of the trolling motor...zip tie the transducer wire up the shaft, from there it will vary depending on how and where you mount the screen

I just ordered one of the 571 HD DI and I can't wait to install it (on the console/transom). It should arrive later this week.

I just bought the TM mount at Academy for $5!
It will mount the skimmer transducer to the bottom of the TM... Just have to be careful not to break this one off like I did the last one !!!

Expensive, but the best investment you can make to protect your transducers from damage:

                        For the XNT9 DI T: http://www.transducershieldandsaver....&category_id=5

I have had the same Lowrance skimmer transducer mounted on my trolling motor in a SSC-1 model from this company for years. Prior to using the TS&S, I broke several on stumps, rocks, etc... Since installing - no problems at all.

                        All the best,
                        Glenn

What cajuntec said. Well worth the investment. I work at a boat shop and those shields are good for you and bad for the fish finder manufacturer cause you'll never buy another transducer to replace one you broke.
