    Best gas grill?

Need a new gas grill. What's the best one at all of the big box stores? Academy? Lowes? Home Depot? Etc

    Thanks
    Chris

I was just at academy and they have a small 299? and large 3 burner 699? weber. felt pretty solid.

Whichever one lets you use lump charcoal or wood.

Check out the Vogner 2000 at Strickland Propane in Arlen TX. I've got a good guy there (Hank) who can hook you up.

OK... in all seriousness, I've heard and seen the replies here about Weber, and although I've never bought one, I have to admit that they look well built. I just have a hard time dropping that much money on a grill, but if they last, then I'm sure they must be worth it.

I personally bought a Char-Griller from Lowes a few years back. It works extremely well, but the insides are rusting out after only a few years. The actual box and frame are fine. It's the smaller pieces, like the upper warmer area (that thin wire second level grill), and the holders for the heat plate. Two years ago, I would have recommended it. Now... I probably wouldn't. Mine might have one more year on it before I need to replace it. Mine was on sale, but they are about $250 regularly, so I think I got my moneys worth out of this one.

My next one will probably be a Weber. I just have a hard time dropping that much money on an outdoor grill - even if it is worth it.

                  All the best,
                  Glenn

Well i totally agree, but there are those days for me when i get home late and tired from work and the gas grill is easy and quick without having to cook and heat up the house during the summer heat. I bought a large gas grill grom academy six years ago. its a chinese no name that works like a champ as long as i keep it clean. I have a webber charcoal and its my go to when i have time.

Weber so you never have to buy another.

I went through two cheapie gas grills in our first three years of marriage. We broke down and bought a Weber Genesis. Sill going strong. It will be our 18th wedding anniversary next August.

I've owned a weber since college, and it's breaking down all over the place. Not to mention all the rust inside (and yea I do clean it.. Not every say, but I shouldn't have to).

I'd like a new weber, but can't afford it. So any recommendations besides weber?

How often you clean you grill? Is it always covered? We bought a 399.00 charbroil about three years ago and it is going down hill fast. I was thinking getting a weber but figured there is no way it could be that much better. I thought even possibly just going cheap cheap if grills are going to be throw aways after three years anyway. We use ours at least three times a week so we really enjoy our grill
