    Hunting ?

I was jw do you have to have a license to hunt pigs? And is it ilegall to hunt them at night with a spotlight and the other ? Is do you i have to have a license to shoot yotes at night that are messing with my cows?

Yes on the hog hunting. Possibly not on the yotes.

You should get a license anyway, not much money and it helps boost licensed hunter numbers and supports TPWD.

If you are the landowner (or have permission from landowner), you do not have to have a hunting license to hunt pigs that are depredating the land. You can hunt them any way you wish, also.

I agree with Grayson about buying a license, too.

Yes you do and a replacement is like $7, much cheaper than a ticket

Since your posting other threads about killing pigs and yotes, I'd recommend getting a license.

It will save you some explaining if you call the Game Warden

BEFORE spotlighting hogs! Lots of folks will call the GM to report spotlights being used on neighboring property. If you call the GM & explain where you will be hunting then he can reassure the neighbor & probably not come out to look for you.

Talking from personal experience here! I was hunting on my OWN PROPERTY & the neighbor called it in.

It does say in the Outdoor Annual that a notification call to the Game Warden is appreciated if you are going to be hunting pigs at night. It will save the wardens a trip if someone reports the lights and shooting.

If you plan on hunting "depredating" hogs or yotes without a license, it would be wise to get permission from the landowner in writing. I'm not sure how particular most wardens get about killing pigs, but the terminology in the annual is very vague. As folks have said, it's best to get a license.
