                Killdeer... Watch out when you are mowing since they nest on the ground. The momma should be nearby and will act like she is wounded and try and lead you away from the nest.

                      I think this is great watching them do this. When they get you far enough away they will fly away.
                      Around my house they lay their eggs in the rock road on the side. The eggs blend in very well.

                          Yea, I feel bad for the momma bird when I've plowed wheat stalks before. Poor thing tried to lead my tractor away for a solid hour. Just fake hobbling out in front of me.

                            During the.spring these stupid birds lay and hatch in my yard. I usually get dive bombed by momma bird and i really try to watch for them as not to hit them with the mower, but sometimes they aint so lucky.
