    Altitude vs Density altitude

    what is the difference? i can use either on my ballistic program but i dont know what Density altitude is.

      Its has been quite a while but from what I remember from flight training density altitude is the altitude with the temp and humidity figured in. Basically the lower the temp and the more humid the air is, the more dense it is.

        Correct, Density altitude is altitude corrected to atmospheric conditions (pressure and temperature)

                    Yep-been a few years since flight school--but one thing for sure, on a hot humid day, that old Huey had to strain a bit to take off with a full load of fuel and wounded--but she still "got 'er done".
