My dad and my great uncle both took my brother and I hunting when we were little kids. I owe this obsession to them. Thanks Pop and Uncle Lawrence.

Grandaddy and dad got me started fishing and my dad got me started hunting. He got me my first bb gun at 5. Nobody in my family bowhunts other than my brother and we started at the same time. He went compound and I went longbow. I credit Tred Barta for getting me started on the longbow.

My parents bought me a single shot 410 when I was 10 and my older brother and I hunted rabbits for a few years. I got myself into deer hunting on my own. My buddy and I decided to try bowhunting in the mid 80s and bought a couple of pawn shop bows but we didn't have much luck. We both bought modern bows about 7 years ago and have been at it since.

Been a hunting family for generations. My dad started taking me since the first day he could. Taught me everything about the outdoors. Wish I could still share a deer blind with him.

My high school buddy Heath. Until then, I had never been hunting. His gramps owned 1700 in coryell county and he invited me. His dad sold me his old high country and the rest is history.

One of my older brothers. Mostly fishing and shooting though. He joined the navy when I was about 12 and i have been a "creek boy" ever since.

For some reason someone in my family started calling me "creek boy" because I was always messing around ponds or any body of water I could find.

My crazy Cajun neighbor showed me ropes around 14 since my family didnt hunt! I am thankful for him everyday!

My dad, uncle and granddad as soon as I could walk. I always had a little recurve as a kid, which I shot anything that I could hit with. My uncle and a buddy of his got me into bowhunting for deer back in '83, and I killed my first deer with a bow in '85. Lucky enough to still hunt with dad and my uncle, and now have a little hunting buddy of my own. He will be 2 in September and I already take him out to the lease and farm as often as I can.

My dad. I wish that he was still around so we could have one more hunt.

Hunting, my dad. Although we only dove hunted growing up. Deer hunting? My older brother. He had friends that took him and he turned me on to it. Bowhunting? Clint @ Bellows Archery. Forgot more about bowhunting than I'll ever know. In their own way each has taught me a little something different. From my dad, I learned to have a good time and not take myself so serious. From my brother, have a passion for what you do. From Clint, K.I.S.S. He'd laugh and call me a stupid m--f--- for using a drop away rest and mech broadheads. Good men all.
