Props to Kroger. This was in the toy section. It's just too bad they didn't have one that was mag-loaded. I give them a B+ for the effort.

Correct use of "clip"

I hold the proper turn of a phrase or word usage in as high a regard as anyone. But I've learned something, over my years as a professional writer (for some of the biggest corporate entities on the planet), author, and communicator... and close friend of some of the best men on earth...
...knowing the "proper" term for something fades to worthless nothingness when set against knowing Giants, who have used the equipment, machine, tool, items in question to the greatest effect - and call 'em whatever in the hell they are use to calling 'em.
POINT?
I have two close friends. One spent years as one of the very first Green Berets (sniper). His father was a renowned weapons smythe (he was the one who actually perfected and milled the very first trigger device for the Manhattan Project device... NOT Oppenheimer). This friend also has several degrees, and has taught at both Stanford, and the War College.
He knows the proper "term" for everything weapon.
My second dear friend is equally brilliant, and equally skilled and experienced. He has served around the globe.
One calls them "mags".
The other calls 'em "clips".
The trash they've taken out... doesn't call them anything anymore.
I grew up calling them "mags" (Marine family). When friend #2 calls them "clips", we both know what he's talking about. And we both know he KNOWS what he's talking about.
