Lubbock is not that bad. We have lots to do. The Tech Museum, the Science Spectrum with Omnimax theatre, shopping, theaters, the Ranching Heritage Center, The wind power museum, the Buddy Holley center, lots of great retaurants and a good bow shop. The only bad thing is you cannot buy adult beverages to take home in town. You have to go to the Strip. Lots of bars and clubs though.

You can watch your dog run away for three days up there.

There are some pretty cool houses to drive through and look at Buffalo Springs and Ranson Canyon.

You're getting there a little late in the season...all the ski lifts will be closed by then!

I went to that other school up there back before I moved down here. We used to hang out at open mic night at a place called the Spoon. A friend of mines brother owned a place called Tom's Daiquiri Bar and there are a bunch of micro breweries down town. Used to go out to a place called Cowpokes but I know its long gone. Thats about the only part of Lubbock I miss.

I cant think of much more than that.
If you wait just a while, you can go see a college team win a football game.

Want to fill me in on that one? I haven't found it yet. I know of one and I think 'good' is stretching it a bit. I bout smacked someone that took a hammer to my bow one day in Lubbock.

Jason, I too was perplexed by that statement, but did not want to be the one that ask the question that you did.

Been there a couple of times. Pretty much like the moon, but without craters. Things are green for about a thunderstorm or two, then it's dry as the moon the rest of the year. The homes are as dreary as the landscape.

I agree with you on everything about Lubbock except the comment on the homes. Evidently you have not been up here in a while. Also, I don't consider my home dreary as you put it and my wife would take great exception to that comment.

Wow some of you make Lubbock seem as bad as El Paso. The plus I guess is that I will only be there for @ 2 days. I have found a place to have a couple of micro brews tripple J's is what I think it's called. Supposedly a winery type place there that I can take the lady to as she is into that. Llano Estacado is what it's called I think.

Then I will probably just go check out a few of the local mueseams that some of you all have mentioned. Ranching Heritage Center seems like an interesting place to me. I will try and make the best of my time in lubbuck.

                          Any horse tracks around there?

I hope to aviod the tweeker areas so I can up the odds of not having my car broken into.
