That's a good one! When I immediately saw the point, "Delhi" came to mind which is a late archaic point style. Let's see what others have to say. Was it in a sand bank or gravel bar?

Or possibly a morrill. Nice point!

I actually found it years ago when I was a kid. We had a place on the river we stayed at on the weekends. Saw the edge of a "neat rock" but was young and couldn't get it out of the dirt, forgot about it for a few days. (Had no clue what it was) Remembered it right before we left and had my older cousin go help me get it - glad i did. I have several other nice artifacts from digs in the hill country but haven't heard about many from this area so was curious. It was on a high bank in the bend of the river, side where the water was cutting. For some reason we never went back to see if anything else was there. Thanks for the help.

Might very well be a Dawson (Middle Archaic).

Everything about it says middle to late Archaic. Could be a delhi without the classic stem. There are several overlapping types in the same time period.

Nice find for an artifact 5,000 years old(give or take 2 thousand)
