    Anyone getting "Empty Nest Syndrome"?

My youngest graduates this May and it's killing me. She'll be at UT Tyler this fall, at least it's not that far. She's such a joy to me and her mother and big time funny! Yes I know it's supposed to be a good time for me and my wife, but I don't know. We bought 11 acres west of Hunt, Texas and plan on selling the house this summer and building our dream home, but I can't seem to get excited. Anyone else having these difficulties?

Been there done that. My youngest was my hunting partner too. Packing up his stuff and moving him to College Station was one of the hardest things I ever did. Time helps, a little.

I HATE BEING AN EMPTY NESTER!!! I am very proud of Matt (Solocam) going out and moving on in his world, but sure left a big hole in mine. Did I mention I hate being an empty nester!

          empty nest...

I felt sick for nearly three weeks when my oldest daughter went to college. Leaving her in that dorm parking lot and driving away was just awful, but it got better. Slowly though.

Ironic that this thread comes up. I just moved my youngest daughter today. What really made it rough was on the way home I heard a song by Stephen Curtis Chapman entitled something like "Cinderella". About a dad dancing with his daughter when she is young because one day he will dance with her at her wedding. Life flies by guys. You younger dads savor every moment

My youngest is out in the world. My oldest is about 12 miles away. I don't feel like an empty nester. They come home a lot and I'm proud of them both. I tend to look at the nest as half full, not half empty.

I'm with you....my youngest is heading to A and M this fall. His schedule is getting pretty tight now for the rest of the year with trips to Washington and Boston for youth leadership conferences, a week in Hawaii, and fish camp. My wife is really struggling trying to plan a family vacation for all of us. She is going through some small depression about her baby leaving. I'm just trying to figure out how I'll make his room into a hobby room for archery and military gun stuff

In this day and age you won't be an "empty nester" long. The kids will be back after college.

                            I'll have one at ATM...

and one at UT Tyler. Does that mean I have to get the house divided sticker for my car? we've got a fmaily cruise vacation planned this summer, but the closer to moving time we get the sadder I'm going to be. Now I have to take out the trash, mow the yard, help with laundry...I may have to adopt.

We have 3 daughters. 2 year old twins and a 4 year old.

I would pay for an empty nest for a week or so.

Anybody got any openings on their nest leases?

It HAS to be high fenced. Needs one 200 lb macaroni and cheese feeder set to go off 3X a day. A Cheerio/cracker/sippe cup feeder needs to be filled daily as well.

PM me if you have a place.
