Looking for a good survival, pig stickin, all around knife

I'm wanting a reasonably priced knife. I would like something that is not too big, but get the job done. Something that would make a good knife to have in a survival situation. Not really looking for a round handle survival knife with a bunch of gear in the handle.
I'm looking for a real knife, something that will hold an edge, and not cost an arm and a leg.
Something I could hunt with, and prep a meal with if needed.

Post up what you have and pics would be great.

        Benchmade® 375 Adamas™ Fixed-Blade Knife

Check it out. It comes with a skeleton handle that you wrap paracord around. Costs about $150 at Cabela's and a portion is donated to the Ranger Assistance Foundation. 9" knife and slightly over 4" blade. This will be my next knife.

Damian, I carry a fixed blade in the field when I go to feed hogs or hunt them. I have one called the "Dagget II" by SOG that is no longer made. It's a double edge and I keep it on my left chest on my pack strap in the handle down position in case I have to draw it quick, or I get knocked down, or have to crawl into some brush to drag one out. I don't take it or use it, for any thing else. SOG makes some good products. I've never sharpened mine in 4 years now, and the stainless blade is still razor sharp. Prices are usually a little cheaper at the gun shows than they advertise on the web sight.
                      Take your pick: http://www.sogknives.com/type/knives.html

SOG makes a dang good knife. Most of my platoon carried SOG through Iraq and used them extensively with no issues.

Great pig stickin profile, and awesome in the kitchen. Because of the swedge of the blade it slices like a dream. 8 inch blade, $70, 1095 carbon steel. Oh and as a "survival" knife it works well. It can perform all the bushcraft tasks you need as well as battoning. Mine came crazy sharp, but if yours doesn't its easy to touch up!!

I bought a cheap remington from academy. It was $27.00... slim and has a clip, comes in orange and camo....I cant lose the thing! I have cleaned hogs, turkey, deer, ...its fits me good and is cheap. Remington® Sportsman™ Series F.A.S.T.® Folder Stainless Steel Folding Blade Knives bass pro has them and academy
