Can you shoot a cheaper arrow and make some of those home made lighted nocs to save on the cost a bit?

why do you use lighted nocks on hogs anyway? and you should be able to reuse both them and the bh. i usually can.

I'm not really complaing about saving money, just the guys and I were adding it up one day at camp. we were kinda shock how much we had in each arrow .I shot big hog in the spine he went down, so I shot again to put him out ,will I miss and hit a rock it shatterd that arrow so I shot again, hit him now he has 3 arrows 2 in him ,of course he rolls down a hill broke both arrows ,3 arrows destroyed .lol just kinda funny .

Sure beat a day at work. Although I'd have to work half a day to pay for those arrows but it be worth it.

When we go just to hog hunt I reuse arrows and shoot the 6 pack of muzzy's that are $35 a pack. I do shoot lighted knocks since we hunt them at night. Still paying but not as much.

I hear ya. My rig cost about the same with fmj's. I took a shot last night about nine using a light. I went for a head shot to avoid tracking. I hit high in the neck and was lucky in only loosing one fletching.

That big ole boar should have a cool scar to show his buddies, if he's lucky it may help with the ladies...you know the saying, "chicks dig scars"'.

If I shot lots of hogs, I'd shoot red head carbon furry, $60/dozen with good weight and accuracy. Then I'd launch muzzies from it.

I've got my good arrows, and then I've got my Cabelas branded, no wraps, no nockturnal pig arrows. They are cheap, but I do still tip them with a slick trick.

So you can find your arrow after it zips thru them. I hunt hogs mostly at nite. I spend a few bucks replacing blades on a broadhead. That's it.

$8ish for a GT7595, $10ish for a SlickTrick....I go pick it up on the other side stuck in dirt, sharpen or replace blades...Repeat

Going with "cheaper arrows" will only result in more broken arrows= higher in the long run, same with broadheads (IMHO)

I know the feeling. I hunt in Rocksprings and pretty much every shot at an animal I can pretty much kiss my broadhead and/or arrow goodbye. Arrow blows through and slams into rocks every time. If the don't break they ricochet off somewhere and are tough as all get out to find.
