    Shot placement/Best Broadhead for Turkey!

Looks like I am finally going to get to do some Spring Turkey hunting this year!

My intentions is to do it with my bow.
What broadhead would y'all recommend and what about shot placement?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I lost a few turkeys shooting for the vitals, then eventually took some advice I got on this site from the late great tuthdoc and started shooting them through the hips broadside, and have not lost one since. If they can't run they can't get airborne. You may have to finish them off but you will never see one flying off over the treeline with an arrow hanging out. As for broadheads, go big.

that is not bad advise!!! my buddy in Montana swears by that shot. personally i draw a line fron the base of tail to base of beard, aim straight up just in front of legs to the point they intersect and hammer him. that said the best thing i ever did was buy me some Turkey-Tomohawks by trophy ridge. havent lost a bird since

i prefer a heavy arrow with a big over the top mechanical that will pound them with lots of KE. NAP makes a huge 170 grain over the top 2blade that should be devastating. they come with field points to dial your bow in with. give Paul @ Double G a call he is a site sponsor and he has them on the wall

See above video that Travis posted.

I recommend a big mechanical. I personally use Grim Reapers and I've had great luck with Rage 2-Blade.

Hit em high, watch em die. Hit em low, watch em go

This is what I've always heard. Or when he's at full strut and facing away, make your entrance hole his exit hole.

I'm looking forward to trying it out. I've always heard how much fun it is but never had the chance to do it! Hopefully soon, I won't be able to say that anymore!

Wait til they are facing you and then center punch them where their necks meet their bodies.

You gotta be careful when taking these shots. I he has any angle to you, the kill zone decreases dramatically.

Anyone tried those wasp turkey head? They had a rounded tip to stun the bird pretty much upon entry.
