Broke my hand last fall, had to borrow a friend's crossbow until late december. Some things I found out:
They are LOUD
I had to constantly recalibrate the scope
They are HEAVY
you get one shot, then it's a pretty big deal to get it reloaded very quickly
I wouldn't say it was much easier to hunt with one vs a bow
When you shoot something, it's almost impossible to see where you hit because the bolt is so fast. That part is not like bow hunting at all.
It's true that you are already "drawn back" when your target critter comes in so that part is much easier than bow hunting.
It's not nearly as easy as I thought it would be. Hunting with a crossbow is still a major challenge. Good luck with yours! It is very fun.
