Thanks to Jason (TexanTax), I started out with a stinky collared peccary and ended up with a beautiful mount to add to my collection.
I was hexed, jinked, voodoed, and overall snake bit when it came to getting a javelina with my bow. My quest started many years ago with Saltwaterslick in Del rio....

Then I had a few encounters where they got spooked.
Then I got another opportunity with SaltwaterSlick with a non-recovery and a non-shot...

Then I went down to Three Rivers/Tilden with Kelly (aironeout) and shot or shot at not one, not two, but three Javis and didn't recover any of them. One even took an arrow under his nose and went completely inside his body with only the fletching sticking out. No blood, no recovery.
Then I went with CoupDeGrace and dang near PINNED ONE TO THE GROUND and the sucker made it into the river bottom cane and I was on hands and knees, could smell him and hear him, and still no recovery.

So I finally gave up and decided to do what I do best....just shoot deer, hogs, and turkey.
So this past October I was lucky enough to go back to Del Rio after a cull 9 pt. I was at full draw and about to smoke this big buck and a boss javelina spooked him off. I shot him more out of anger and frustration than anything else.
He made it about 50-60 yards. I finally had me a javi after countless hunts and about $120 worth of arrows and broadheads.

I took him to Texantax in Magnolia and picked him up today. Very happy with the mount.
