    Computer Problem

Picked up something today and cannot seem to launch facebook without getting a request to provide information, including credit card. Looked it up and something is infected. I have a work around on FB, but cannot seem to launch any adware sites from yahooo, which I think is part of the infection to cleanse my system. Macafee isn't seeming to cleanse it.

Any help or links would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

You need to go to your programs and choose your restore program. Look around until you find the option to restore your computer to a earlier time when it was working correctly. I've had to do it plenty of times. Kinda weird though cause I got off Facebook and haven't had a problem since.

            Try malwarebytes to clean it

I'd try this first. If that doesn't work, you could try and download Avast. Free virus protection program. I've got some I.T. buddies that swear by it. Run the program and also do a boot scan. I run it on my machines and it catches everything. Good luck.

I don't do Facebook but my wife does on her notebook. I was cleaning that think every couple of weeks until I dumped Norton and installed Avast and Maleware Bytes. We've not had another virus or malware issue in over a year or more. Knock on wood!

I had to start up in safe mode (F8)! Then download malwarebites and run a complete scan. It found it and quarantined it and no problems since. Starting form a previous time period did not help in my case.

                        This right here.

Safe Mode (F8) and scan the computer with Malware Bytes and your anti-virus (Avast and AVG are both good & both are free).
