    Releases

I am currently looking at buying a new release as I have some paypal funds to spend. I currently shoot a Scott Sabertooth it is a great well made release but it has gone off twice on me while letting down with my finger behind the trigger. I am trying to decide between a T.R.U. Ball diamond pro thumb release or a Scott Silverhorn. So if anyone has any experience or knowledge on a hook style or thumb style and the benefits of each please fill me in.

I shoo the true ball hunter max 3 and i like it alot its a thumb release and i can say that my groups have gotten a lil tighter.. Allow natural hand turn for me but everyones diffrent so give them all a shot if you can

Did you call Scott about that problem? They have a lifetime warrenty. It could be the spring is bad or the metal edge wore down.

I shoot for TRU and the Diamond Pro is an awesome release.

I have the truck fire max hunter 3 so far like it a lot, takes getting use to though, so get it now and get comfortable with it.

I have shot both and prefered the Silverhorn. I don't shoot often enough to learn a new release. My everyday release is a Little Bitty Goose and my back up is a Silverhorn I bought from Keegan a few years ago. The thumb release was like trying to walk all over again. I have never shot true back tension and thats the idea behind the thumb release so it was difficult for me to learn. If I would've put in the time and effort I'm sure I would've shot better with the Tru Ball as it promotes proper form, but I'm lazy like that.

Sabertooth is a great release. See if you can get is fixed. Maybe the tension allen bolt by the trigger is too loose?

I have the silver horn and I love it. I have had zero issues with it in the 7 years I have had it.

Well I just found out Lancaster archery doesn't accept paypal while trying to check out. The search goes on...
Yes I believe the accidental releases were due to the trigger being light and I possibly rotated the head on let down. That is the only way I could reproduce the failure.
