New ride and paint job ?

Well my dang dodge 6.7 has really let me down, dang good lookin truck but looks don't drive me to work and back....it has been broke down the last 4mths and cost me over 8g's and it went down again last thursday, luckily the work they did before was all warrantied so it wont hurt me even more. I did that math on what that truck is costing me a month and just shook my head....

    Note 650$
    Insurance 100$
    Diesel 200$ a week......

Thats right......1500$ a month!!!! Im an idiot i know lol. Anyway its is being fixed and sold asap.......decided i was tired of payin a truck note and decided to hunt for my old highschool dream truck that i never got.........found an dang good deal in my opinion, 98 chevy z71 with 110k original miles. That comes out to 7,333.33333 mile a year! He was askin 4200 and i gave him 3600$ cash.......i think im happier with this than i was with my dodge when i got it. Anyway the paint on the hood is cracked and peeling bad, anyone have any idea what a new paint job on the hood would cost?? Thanks for any help.

No idea on price but i miss my high school ride. mine was a '91 red z71, my dad passed it down to me, he bought it new. It had 289,*** when i got rid of it and never had a single problem except the fuel pump. They just don't make them like that no more. Good buy

Used to work at a body shop, considering the vehicle and just depending on what shop you go to and what color you want, looking at a ballpark of $2000-4000

Surely that's for the whole truck, not just the hood?

                    Nice find!!!

I drive a 1999 Chevy Z71 and that truck has been very good to me....Plan on keeping her for a long time. Dont remember exactly but she has around 116,000 on her now.

I have no desire for a truck payment. Lol

What all has happened to your 6.7? 8k in repairs is a lot. I know cause I spent close to that on my 2008 megacab 6.7. I did the front hub assembly, upper and lower ball joints, one tie rod end, bedlined the nerf bars and bed. I also put on a new set of 37x12.50x20 Nitto trail grapplers, installed a mini max and 5 inch turbo back exhaust with an mbrp six inch black tip, blistein shocks all the way around and changed my crank case filter. I forgot about the two optima batteries that were $400 bucks, all of that was between $7500 and $8000.

To paint your good right you are probably looking $400-$600. Paint is like anything else. You get what you pay for. I bet you could get a guy working at a body shop to do it on the side in his garage for $200 or less if you don't mind the quality being sub par.

I have owned my 98Z since 98 when I took it off showroom floor. 267000 miles of hard run . I just pulled engine out and completely overhauled plus couple of major upgrades. Also rebuilt tranny. The best vehicle I have ever owned bar none.
