    Tent camping

Looking for a place to go tent camping that has water and electricity?
within a 2 hour drive of Plano. Any ideas?

This would be over March 10th

Most state parks do, if you can find one that isn't full over spring break.

I'd check the state parks. We usually got to Martin Dies Jr. State Park at least once or twice a year. Lots of stuff to do and a really nice park.

Tyler state park is really nice if you want hilly terrain and pine trees. Great MTB trails, fishing too.

Dinosaur Valley is cool if your kids are into such things (exploring and visiting the tracks in the river is cool too, take sandals or old sneakers) Good MTB trails

Mineral Wells is a nice park.

Cedar Hill is a neat park if you want something close to home (bring your MTB, some of the best trails in the area) Great hiking, and nice lake views.

Cleburne state park is pretty neat.

You can make reservations online or by phone in advance.

Take the extra time and hit beavers bend, or the Blue River in OK. Dinosaur Valley and then Tyler, in that order for us, with kids.

Check out Hamm creek park, close to Rio Vista. Brand new sites, totally redone a couple yrs. ago. On the brazos, where fishing is hot right now.

As mentioned...check out the state parks.

We will be at Martin Dies during spring break. Cant wait to set up the tent and catch some fish.

                        Timm,

I don't have water or electric but if you want to camp at my place south of Bonham you are welcome to. I have pigs, creeks, a pond.

If you want to camp nearby, Bonham State Park is about 5-10 min away.

Most lakes will have sites with both.

Pretty sure Lake of The Pines, Tyler State park, etc. If you want to get into the Pineywoods.

                              Much appreciated Kevin.

The TPWD reservation site is not working right. It just keeps timing out.
I may just call tomorrow morning
