    Bought a foxpro. What sounds

I picked up a foxpro wildfire at academy yesterday. It's supposed to have 50 sounds loaded on it. I haven't messed with it yet. Any suggestions on sounds that might not be on it?

Lip squeaks. A buddy of mine and I use these alot. It's different. Coyotes cats and fox cannt resist it. Turn te volume down when you get one that hung up on a different call. Gets them runnin in.

What will you be hunting most? Cats, fox, coyotes?

Coyote Pup Distress 3 is a must

Lightning Jack is probably on there

Baby Cottontail is probably my most used call

          Lucky Bird for cats

Vole Squeaks if you get tired of lip squeaking

Ranting Red Bird is a good one

I also like Hairy Woodpecker 2 and Red-Bellied Woodpecker 1

Mostly coyotes. Maybe bobcats on occasion. I think it may have crow calls on it too

Noticed they put the file format that only works on FoxPro and no other players. Need to convert the files with a software. Keep the volume low. Nature doesn't have rabbits on a loud speaker.

I knew they had their own proprietary file. What do you mean convert the files with software? I havent read the book yet or anything. Just put batteries in it and messed with it at work a few minutes. I may get it out around dark and see if i can call one up

they may have a lispsqueak on it. Try the DSG cottontail, I recorded it. DSG stands for dillon , south and guess.

As far as the nature doesn't have a speaker goes. Have you ever heard a dying rabbit? They scream their butts off! ear piercing loud. They don't start softly and get louder. The thing is there is no right or wrong way. It's all preference and how it works for you. I change it up depending on the situation.

I used a chicken in distress sound on a hard to call coyote in Nebraska that doubt had ever heard a chicken in his life!

FOXPRO files will not play on anything other than a foxpro unless converted. to a different format. However you can load any MP3 file to a foxpro and I think wave files also.

Cool post....I'm a newbie to predator calling but plan to start soon. What volume level do you recommend to use on the first call from a set up?
