I would just go, it is our duty as Americans to convict everyone ever arrested

About 11 or so years ago, Judge Johnson in Dallas County issued warrants for contempt of court for people who didn't show up. And to quote a line from a song: "Don't ask me how I know"

The peace officer thing don't work....I Am a peace officer and I've been called 3 times. Got picked on one jury and had to go to JP court on a traffic ticket of all things. The guy was found guilty and thanks to me, the guy only had to pay the original fine and not what the other five people wanted to give him. The 2nd time, I got out of it, only because I was one of the officers that arrested the guy. And the third was on a murder trial and I knew the defendant and they just switched the chairs around and I was the very last person. Kinda took a nap in the back of the court for the rest of the day......

And there is a couple of judges in Tarrant County that WILL send somebody to pick you up and you will sit in the county jail for a day or two until you are brought before the court.

You'll still need to show up, but just tell them the defendant obviously must have done something illegal or he wouldn't have been indicted. I'm sure his attorney will dismiss you.

Ricky T is right. Not a good thing to be sitting there needing a jury of your peers and getting 12 people who don't have a clue. I just finished 6 months of Grand Jury and I am glad I served. There's a bunch of scumbags that have been indicted for thier actions because 12 hard working people said "That ain't right".

How can people be so quick to judge ethics of other hunters and point out flaws, then shirk the civic duty of showing up when summoned for jury service?

Dont we have an ethic responsibility to those people who are innocent until proven guilty?

The grand jury is great isn't it? You get to see stuff that won't even make it to trial. Being on a grand jury really gives you insight into law enforcement from another level.
