Have you had any problems with the normal one that would cause you to switch?

I haven't had any problems with the normal ones, so I am just curious.

Looks like a good idea though!

We are only into our 2nd experience using the darts. Haven't had a problem yet, except on one doe we had to dart 2x before she went down- she was a yearling too, could have been bad shot placement, or she's tough who knows. .. I'm just placing our first order & was wondering. We have been borrowing until now. Looking for any insight!

We ordered directly from pneudart. Type "C" dart with the gel collar.

        pm sent.

We've always used the Type C darts with the gel collar as well, but have had a couple of instances where the dart shot backwards out of the animal, presumably when I hit bone and didn't get enough penetration for the gel collar to get in the hide. I think the new tri-port cannula would eliminate that problem. I also like the idea that the drug is being dispersed into three seperate tracts which in theory would result in quicker uptake by the animal. On my last order, I bought the new tri-ports but haven't used any of them yet.

I have used both rather extensively. I have seen no material difference between the two. The most important thing is take care to ensure you don't accidentally discharge the darts. I have dropped my whole dart box once and discovered that about 20% of the darts had discharged. I had to replace about 20 darts after that......

Also, unless you are using 2.5 cc or larger darts, I don't see the need to be concerned over the single port darts. On whitetails, I rarely use more than 2cc and that is for mature bucks over 3 yrs old.

Sounds good. We are ordering 1cc, 3/4" tips. Will get the gel collar. Seems like we don't need to worry about the tri-port. just another sales pitch ;-)
