    IT Departments

There are times I get frustrated with the company IT dept. They have a lot of cool sites blocked (guns, ammo, weapons) which is understandable, after all these computers do belong to them. But I still like to surf when I get a chance (like right now, waiting on the inventory auditor to get here). However.....there are those times, when fat fingers or a brain fart slips out and causes a screw up, and the IT department saves the day. Which happened to me this morning. My boss was highly ticked because of a mistake I made.....I was unclear on what to do and did it wrong even after talking with another manager at another location about it.....but that didn't calm her emotions any. But alas, I sent the IT director an email and he hooked my up. Mistake has been fixed.

Maybe I can get thru the rest of my Friday without any hiccups.

    Y'all have a good'un!

Fresh cup of coffee, donuts, and snacks will go a long way towards getting a policy built that excludes you from certain restrictions....
    just sayin.

I have found in my time in the salt mines that having a good relationship with both a junior and senior member of the IT staff is better than being cozy with the president of the company. They can get you out of a bind, get you access where normally restricted, and can wipe emails that should have had more thought used before hitting the send button!

Glad they got you fixed...Before you get too upset with the IT department on what is being block, chances are they are just following the policy that set forth by the legal and complaince departments.

The ones that do the code are always good to have on your side.

good job to the IT dept We don't get that often. It seems like we only hear from people when things go down or aren't working.
