I saw a segment on the news about Texans losing their accent....I live in the country and my family and friends speak Texan....Is this happening in the cities or in the country too? Any thoughts?

I intentionally filtered my twang about 10 yrs ago. I was living in Northern Colorado & working. My sales were in the tank & I could not figure out why. I began discussing it with 2 fellow sales people, one a native coloradoan the other a 20 yr transplant. They informed me people in CO have a particular distaste for Texans because we own significant portions of private land in CO & we are viewed as arrogant. My twang was turning customers off. Decided with commission heavy income I had to make sales or starve to death. I began working on annunciation & pronunciation. Sales went up immediately.
But I've been back in west Texas for 8 yrs now & it's back in full effect now that paying the bils doesent depend on it.
I don't think true texans are losing the twang, I think it's the increasing percentage of transplants
