    Bandera

Staying a few days in Bandera Saturday till Monday. Anywhere to let some arrows fly? Fishing? Bass? Trout? Good grub? Any other recommendations on what to do while we're there would be appreciated. My GF's parents are visiting and we're staying in their RV and they have a time share somewhere. Thanks.

We always eat at O.S.T., you can't miss it on Main St. There's several other eating places.

For stuff to do, there's plenty. We like to go horseback riding - beautiful weather for that. We always go to Twin Elm Ranch. Great folks. Real cowboys.

    The website is helpful.

    Have fun and enjoy it!

Edit to add... Not sure about an archery range. There is a small archery store and I'm sure they'll have some info.

Edit again... Can't find the archery store on the map. I'll ask hubby tomorrow.

There are several dance halls. 11th street is my favorite, Arkeys is kinda cool. There's another on the north side of town that's cool. There's always live music in town. We stay at the pioneer RV park which is right on the river walking distance from downtown. You can fish the river there. Caught a few small bass and cats. Have fun. One of our favorite places to go.

If you like horse riding, give a call to the Hill Country Equestrian Lodge. My cousins Diane and Peter own it and they are some really good folk. It's not the typical ride around a circle that you get with a lot of trail rides. They also have nice lodging, but it appears you have that taken care of.

I wish I had a boat, I work at a boat dealer as a parts manager. Anyone need Mercury parts hit me up. Sure can't afford one on my salary but someday. I rode a horse once in high school, my neighbors had four of them. I prefer horsepower with a throttle and brakes. I can't wait to get there. Thanks again to all!

No trip to Bandera is complete without a visit to the OST Cafe for a Big Duke burger all the way.

Private streams stock trout in the winter but most are clubs.

No problem. Fishing is best right under the bridge. The best place to sit in the river is at the east side of the campground where the run-off trench dumps into the river. Perfect spot to sit, just wrong time of year. Might be a little cold. Have fun. It is what you make it.

The Twin Elm now has a RV park, best in the area with concrete sites and paved streets. Clean private restrooms.

The OST is best for any meal.

If the timeshare is the Flying L Guest ranch say howdy to my friend Buck Shannon the ranch cowboy, campfire entertainer.

We can't remember which road the archery shop was on. But it was really small, like in the guy's garage. We just stumbled across it. If you ask around, somebody will know.

Have to go to Jacalitos for the best Mexican food in town! Also, Bandera is full of bars- if you like to hang out or drink.
