    RV - Battery/Generator Issue - Need Advice

Okay so when I'm turning my generator on the camper won't utilize it's power unless I turn on enough items (all the lights, coffee pot, etc.) to switch off from the battery to the genny.

So I thought I'd be smart and unhooked the battery all together. This didn't solve the issue as the power would come on and off, weirdly enough the lights aren't turning off when the genny's power isn't being used, they're very dim though. Is there a 2nd battery I'm unaware of?

I'm guessing there's some sort of converter that's gone bad? In the past when the genny is on the camper utilizes its power exclusively, not sure why it's reverting back to the battery.

I'm very confident this is not a genny issue rather something to do with the camper.

    Appreciate any help.

Does the RPMs on the generator fluctuate when you turn on your lights and stuff?

Yes, the more juice required the higher the genny runs.

Is your tow vehicle still hooked to the rv? If so thats where your getting the power from . The 7 pin connector will charge the battery on board the rv.

You need to check the inverter on the 12v side.

It sounds like inverter/converter isn't working right.

It is the low power use idle thingie on the generator.

When it senses low or no use it idles down to conserve fuel.

Need to turn of the auto idle switch.
