All I can say "it is worth the time, energy and very low amount of cash outlay!" Jim, any thoughts on another caribou group hunt?

Caribou hunting is fun. One of my favorite trips ever. Come to think of it, all of my Canada hunts have been my favorites. I guess its time to book again. Ive hunted bear once in Canada. I had fun, but came home empty handed. Where is the best place to book, for some monster good color fased bears?

I decided to take this year off after going the last 5 years in a row.
After taking such an awesome bear last year and am planning a trip to the dark continent this year figured I would sit this one out. I do plan on returning in 2014 though.
Good luck to those that are going.

If I do it will be out west. I'm not real comfortable with what I've seen on the health of the heards. Labrador closed theirs to hunting. QC may reduce number you can take if they haven't already. Alaska reduced theirs from 2 to 1 a few years back. Personally I feel more comfortable putting a group together for a sitka blacktail, coues or something along those lines till I see the 2013 bou reports. Just a little gun shy right now. From what I heard you better be fit to pull off some of the bou hunts now. I still contend we got lucky given it was in 2010 and the start of all this crap. (disclaimer: the gov doing the counting is probably making it look worse than what it is)

Let me think on it, I'll come up with a group hunt of some sort that will be one of the 29 and not typical to TX. Muskox maybe?

You can shoot an occasional monster(300lb+) anywhere. Consistent monsters come from the west coast because of the extra protein from the fish or up north where fly-ins are common because of lack of pressure. Color phase will be Alberta-ish if I remember right, Manitoba as well but i believe Alberta has the most concentration of color phase but verify that for sure.

Muskox has to be combined with something else in my mind. I had them at 65 yards on my first caribou hunt in alaska but no tag. My second trip there I had them at 150 yards ..........again no tag. I had not heard about any bad reports on the Porcupine Herd outta the Brooks Range of Alaska. I know Canada was having issues though.
