    Taking possession of road kill??

There was a big buck killed on the road by a car near my home and I called the Texas parks and wildlife to see if I can get a tag for it and they said in Texas u can't process a road killed animal and they don't issue permits?! Is this right? Doesn't sound real??
    Anyone been through this

Road kill is buzzard bait unless the game warden gives it to you. Bypass the state level and go straight to the local warden, its your only hope.

Ok. It's sucks. Very different from other states. I hope they don't try and sell if for their profit. I was gonna mount it and honor it in my home

They wont sell it but if its really big my experience is your not getting it either and you better not move it and get caught.... Thats a big ol ticket you will surely cry over lol

Come on and comment you probably know more about this than any of us do. I just know of a friend that picked one up and paid a HUGE fine for doing so..

Almost... I said I ALMOST got in trouble for this reason in my college days in Williamson county while at Southwestern.

Luckily LE came and informed us before we actually did anything stupid.

                          What about non-game animals?

What about just taking the horns?

First question they usually ask is "how big is it"? That should tell you all you need to know!

Call the gw and have him FAX you a tag. I've done it several times, the processor can keep deer with it. Or you can.process it

                              Horns he will prolly want
