I went to Big Sky Guide and Outfitting school in Wilsall Mt. in 89. Just make sure they offer some type of job placement after you get done. I've worked for several outfitters in Mt, Co, and Canada. If you like hunting I would'nt do it. I had the misconception when I started that I'd get to hunt a lot. Not much hunting but you do get to meet a lot of new people and make some really good friends. I get a lot of invites to go hunting now all around the country from people I've guided in the past. Now that I'm older I plan on taking a lot of people up on there offers. Good luck on your new adventure.

For some of the out-of-state guiding/hunting it might be worth your time to go. For whitetail guiding in Texas it will be a complete waste of time. Even the school in Texas (I won't mention any names...but it may have been mentioned in an earlier post) is considered a joke in most circles. I'm not trying to bust your bubble or anything just stating my opinion. But like I said, if you don't know much about tending to horses and all of that, the out-of-state thing might be cool.
