    Water Well and Drilling Costs?

What can I expect to pay for about a 400-500ft depth well in a 4" case and a 3/4hp submersible pump?

Supposedly, it needs to be this deep since I'm near copano bay.

    Thanks

Not to get into your business but I don't think I would use that small of casing the pump motor is cooled by the water, and due to tight clearance could also starve your pump, both would cost you bucks in pump/motor repairs. By the way in west Texas your looking at 16-18 per/ft to drill and case with 6" pvc casing.

a 3/4 hp from that depth wont get you anything to speak of. off the top of my head, without looking at a chart id say a 3 hp might get you 10-13 gpm from 500ft , and a 5hp for 25-35gpm.
i use 4 1/2" sdr-17 on my small wells and have not had any problems with motors getting too hot
i charge 23.00 per foot for a "turn-key job" that is an 8 3/4" hole , cased with 4 1/2" sdr 17 , gravel packed and completed to state specs , with your pump, pipe ,wire , and all of you fittings ,
      for a 10" hole w/6" casing it'll be p.o.r , but around 30.00-35.00 per ft

Mark, the depth of the well really isn't the concern. The depth of the water table is what you need to determine the size pump you will need. I'll talk to a friend that drills wells and let ya know what I find out, providing he knows the area around Copano. Usually the water table isn't that deep close to the coast, but I'll see what I can find out.

          Thanks all,
We'll see what other info I can find. I've had a little trouble get my calls returned from some drillers. I want to be sure I get the right equipment.

I live in Rockport and I paid about $3,000 five years ago. The well is about 200ft. I think. Metcalf drilled mine. He went through 28ft. of sand before hitting first clay. It is good well, no iron to turn everything rust colored. Plenty deep.
