I can tell you this from when i shot comp when i was younger. Depends on how they do it though, but make sure you have dark colored nocks, and fletching. Ive had guys pin off my arrow and bust mine to score where i hit. plus it gives them a reference point if you hit good if you got bright colors. dark colors makes them have to guess too.

I also shoot at Tejas in the hunter class. I don't take it as serious as some guys do. I just go out have fun with my son and wife and eat. Guess sharpen up the hunting skills as well. My advice is have fun first then later if you like, get more competitive.
